A terrific start to the fall season as Gary Keane's men recorded the win in their debut match of Division 3. With sights set securely on automatic promotion, an opening day win in comfortable fashion is just what the doctor ordered.

A delayed kick-off was not enough to knock the Green Briar out of its rhythm as they recorded a comfortable 5:0 over West Africans United. A mix up in refereeing assignments for the Celtic v Lowell Utd match meant close to an hour delay in both matches. West Africans took exception to the delay and played the match under protest. The protest is being looked into by the league and the standings will be updated hopefully by week's end.

Keith O'Malley put in a great performance with a brace of goals and assists. David Coen scored the pick of the goals however. A square ball from O'Malley on the right wing found Coen free at the edge of the box. He hit the ball first time and caressed a stupendous lob over the stranded keeper into an unguarded net. Terrific touch from the big man who is in a rich vein of form recently.
