Banshee Invitational

Green Briar 4:2 Banshee Celtic

The Briar relinquished their hold on the Banshee Celtic Invitational Cup this past Wednesday with a narrow loss to Paddy Barry's. The second match of the competition was a consolation match versus the Banshee Celtic.

Played under scorching conditions at Moakley turf, the teams nonetheless put forth an entertaining spectacle. The Briar fell behind on two occasions, but managed to reply and add a couple more to run out 4:2 winners.

Tom Caldwell was sharp in taking a quick free kick to Carlos to find the first equalizer. A spilled cross from the right was spilled into the path of Colin Goin for the second equalizer.

As the conditions took their toll, the Briar managed to add a couple of late goals to secure the victory. Carlos collected his brace when he finished on the rebound following a shot off the cross bar. Not to be outdone, Colin Goin also got his brace with a typically barreling run and finish as time expired.
